Saturday 25th September

Left Port Broughton on tuesday after a few days of relaxing (hard life i know).  We arrive at Mclaren Vale Lakeside Caravan Park where we are staying until Monday,  as we are getting the Territory put on gas, so hopefully will be able to move on to Victor Harbour on Tuesday.
Wednesday,  On a whim we decided to go caravan shoppping around Adelaide,  looked at lots of vans and in the end decided $16,000 on top of our van just didn't make sense.   Came home and fell in love with the Jayco all over again.
Thursday and Friday we explored Mclaren Vale township and then Harndorf and surrounding Adelaide hills, looks a lot like the South Coast of NSW.   Very green and pretty at the moment,  didnt enjoy the Holden Appollo we were given as our courtesy car,  can't wait to get our Territory back.
Saturday.   Went into Adelaide CBD and did the touristy thing, on the way there, got lucky, and Robin bought me a new washing machine,  fantastic automatic top loader, i am in love.   Also went to Glenelg which reminded me of a mini Surfers Paradise.

Stopped along the way at a little Butchery and was able to buy Dawsons dinner that night, photo attached,
Texan T Bone.

Thats all for this week,   Love to all

Port Broughton to the Flinders Ranges

Monday, Arrived 2.30pm at the Rawnsley Park Station, where luckily we had booked ahead, otherwise would have been turned away.  Relaxed for the rest of the day
Tuesday, Big touristy day, a bit of a an adventure actually. Left the station and travelled firstly to Wipena Pound and then onto Sacred Canyon Aboriginal Engraving Site, very muddy road and car. Nice walk up the canyon only a few engravings at the end, but nonetheless a great experience, then onto Stokes Hill Lookout where we met people from Glenbrook  (small small world). Then off to the Appealinna Ruins, gave Dawson time to explore then on to Blinman the highest town in SA, past the Great Wall of China on route.  Absolutely amazing, incredible, words escape me vista.  Now the real adventure begins, Blinman to Parachilna, half way there we pull up for petrol, sign reads: Welcome, Real People Only No Yuppies, several creek crossings, lots of dirt and mud, and potholes, and corrugations later we arrived at the Prairie Hotel where the serve feral tucker, camel, kangaroo and emu.  Followed the railway line which the Ghann follows before turning off on the Moralana Scenic Route to home.   Mind blowing scenery, took my breath away.  Home and straight to the car wash bay for our wonderful Territory,  who needs a 4WD when you have a Territory.  The amount of mud we washed off  her would have been the weight of the caravan (slight exaggeration, not like me to stretch the truth.    FANTASTIC DAY.
Wednesday,  Today was walking day. Plan was 5km walk back to van then another short walk in the afternoon.   However, once we got walking we kept going 10kms round trip taking 3 1/2hours. Terrain was up and down and rocky and smooth, but once again the scenery was absolutely amazing.  Along the way saw an emu with here chicks, very cute. Dawson just kept on going , loves his freedom.  Once home though, sleep sleep and more sleep for our little man.  Saw some especially lovely birds, the red capped robin, and the ringneck parrot, kites, eagles. Also saw a variety of kangaroos, and even came a very very rare  kangaroo,  possibly the only one in Australia,  it is the known as the Reinyroo.   Picture attached.
Thursday,   Arrived back in Port Broughton after passing through, Hawker, Quorn, Port Augusta, Port Germein (where Robin decided to go walkabout again, not me still recovering from my 10km walk, this time he tackles the longest wooden jetty in Australia, 1 1/2 kms out, so glad i didn't agree to go with him.
Friday, Travelled the York Pennisula , firstly the township of Wollaroo, then onto Moonta Bay, Port Hughes and then back to Moonta and Kandina and back home again.   Lovely area.
Sunday:    R & R day

Barham to Clare

Sunday, relaxing day at Barham
Monday, Our first free camp at Nyah on the Murray river, absolutely lovely spot where we met up with our neighbours (Darryl and Kath) from Maoma and there gorgeous dog Bessie. By the end of the day we had 5 couples sitting around the campfire, they came from Tasmania, and Victoria to share there time with us.   A great night with too much to drink and some great stories shared.
Tuesday, Second day and night same as the first.  We were camped across from the Trotting Track, Football Oval, Cricket Pitch,  we were able to watch the horses being trained, apparently a day too early to watch the footballers train (cant win them all).
Wednesday Stayed at Buronga Riverside Caravan Park at Mildura, very nice park where we were lucky enough to enjoy the company of Darryl and Kath again,  (more drinks, our poor poor livers)  Thankfully they are leaving for Broken Hill tomorrow chance to recover.
Wednesday went to Wentworth today,  where the Murray and Darling Rivers join, lovely town, we also went to the Perry Sandhills where there is a old Murray gum (400 years old ) buried up to its canopy in the sand, must have a massive root system to get water out there.  Dawson had the time of his life, off the lead and running and playing in his own little Sahara Desert.  Another great day.
Friday and Saturday - Two days at Renmark,  Not much to report, dont have to do that again.
Sunday  At  Clare, looking forward to a few days here to enjoy the wineries.
