Sunday, relaxing day at Barham
Monday, Our first free camp at Nyah on the Murray river, absolutely lovely spot where we met up with our neighbours (Darryl and Kath) from Maoma and there gorgeous dog Bessie. By the end of the day we had 5 couples sitting around the campfire, they came from Tasmania, and Victoria to share there time with us. A great night with too much to drink and some great stories shared.
Tuesday, Second day and night same as the first. We were camped across from the Trotting Track, Football Oval, Cricket Pitch, we were able to watch the horses being trained, apparently a day too early to watch the footballers train (cant win them all).
Wednesday Stayed at Buronga Riverside Caravan Park at Mildura, very nice park where we were lucky enough to enjoy the company of Darryl and Kath again, (more drinks, our poor poor livers) Thankfully they are leaving for Broken Hill tomorrow chance to recover.
Wednesday went to Wentworth today, where the Murray and Darling Rivers join, lovely town, we also went to the Perry Sandhills where there is a old Murray gum (400 years old ) buried up to its canopy in the sand, must have a massive root system to get water out there. Dawson had the time of his life, off the lead and running and playing in his own little Sahara Desert. Another great day.
Friday and Saturday - Two days at Renmark, Not much to report, dont have to do that again.
Sunday At Clare, looking forward to a few days here to enjoy the wineries.
Sounds like you're having a lovely time....and haven't heard the floods have caught you anywhere. I wonder about TV sometimes - do they make it worse just for the spectacle??! Spoke to David Hellyer this morning who didn't know you'd hit the road (but now he does. Haha!). Great shot of Dawsy. I'm in the annexe with Colin and Columbo (the mini-foxie) who have collapsed due to running too hard for the past two hours over at Columbo's place. Look forward to more of your blog. Love from us to you...Mxxx
