12th June: Enjoyed our stay at Dongarra, lovely park with ocean views. Lots of boardwalks to walk and enjoy the scenery. A young couple with there two children camped beside us, Mia aged 3 and very chatty and her older brother Jak who was 12, nice kids they are travelling for 3 months in a small camper, so glad we have a caravan.

19th June: Kingsway Tourist Park (Suburb of Perth) possibly the worst park we have stayed in this trip, very run down, but all the tourists are very nice, met a young couple travelling in a big bus with there 3 year old daughter Olivia, too cute was this little girl, cant wait for grandchildren of our own. We both enjoyed Perth which is very pretty and modern and also Freemantle where we did all the touristy things, loved the old buildings and museums especially the Museums with the Batavia history. absolutely amazing.

21st June: Robins birthday, I splashed out and took him to a Free Camp for the night, where I gathered the firewood, lit the fire, made the nibbles and organised the drinks. He said not to worry about a present so I took him at his word and didn't buy a present or a card, I felt very guilty, yes I am a slack wife. Unfortunately we witnessed an accident between a car and motorbike, we were parked beside the ride when the motorbike turned into the car. The lady driving the car was in shock, and Robin stayed with the poor biker who was in the middle of the road until the navy paramedics and the ambulance and police arrived. I was very proud of Robin who kept the poor man still who was in an incredible amount of pain. We dont know the outcome, hopefully he survived, they had him listed as critical when he left.

22nd June: Arrived at Busselton where we went for a drive to check out the Margaret River wineries and surf,( lucky for some not lucky for others)no surf but you guessed it lots of wine and cheeses and olives yummo. Busselton has the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere 1.8kms long in face with an aquarium at the end, I was going to go out but the aquarium was closed due to the bad weather we were experiencing. travelled on to Margaret River beautiful green rolling hills, cattle, sheep and horses and vineyards all the way down. Tourist heaven for galleries etc.

26th June: Still no surf, may stay another day or two and see if things improve. Love to all

  1. I loved Perth and Fremantle too! I noticed your cow pictures :) I'm surprised they're still there - I thought they were all to be sold last year ???? Busselton jetty was mostly closed last year undergoing renos so we didn't get to go far down. If you get a chance do the tree tops walk in the valley of the giants near Denmark, breathtaking! Hope you enjoy the rest of WA. Cheers, Kathie & Cameron

  2. Sorry that I haven't done much "commenting" to you. I've been to Sydney for two weeks (went down for niece Genene's 2 year old daughter's birthday. Took Columbo and he was excellent, but whilst there, John's Aunty Mary passed away (Sunday 26 June - the day of the two year old's birthday party). John took some days off work and flew to Sydney and we've just driven back from there last night, arriving in River Heads at 1 am - 17 hours on the road, but better to do it in one go. Will email separately. Love your photos...Marilyn xxxooo
